Accommodation at Elmore
Spring, yay!
After our deep winter’s rest (well actually more of a deep clean and mini refurb actually!) we’ve re-opened our doors for events again, which means the bedrooms are back in use… The beautiful rooms at Elmore are such a large part of what we offer here, yet we don’t talk about them very often, so we thought we’d let Team E loose to share a few of our favourite rooms to rest a weary head…
Lets start with Anselm...
As the owner of Elmore Court, Ans spent a fair bit of his time growing up here, he knows every nook and cranny like no-other, and remembers what it was like long before it was a wedding venue. Well, he has four rooms he loves (!)
The Smoking Room
Firstly, the Smoking Room, mainly due to the great memories of hanging out here in the past after dinner. Although it’s changed a fair bit from the days when it was used as a place to retire to after dinner for a cigar and nightcap!
Memories of the Time Room
If you’ve watched Country House Rescue, you might remember this was the room that Ruth Watson dubbed ‘the naughty boys room’ and it still holds fond memories for Ans, as does the Time Room opposite (which was his first bedroom in the house.)
The North Room
The Master Suite
This old panelled bedroom wins the top spot though, and is where Ans chooses to stay when the family are in the house. It was the first room to be renovated and houses the fabulous Caesar bed!
And you, Sarah?
Sarah Guise says her favourite bedroom also has to be the Master Bedroom; “so many memories, and I love the Easter egg door. I do have a soft spot for the butlers room too”.
Wedding Co-ordinator Leesa
Leesa is also a lover of the Master Suite, she adores everything about this room. The blue tiles in the fireplace, the wood panelling and the roll top bath. She watched this room being transformed into its current beauty and said it brought a tear to her eye (in a good way!).
The Time Room
Katrina loves the Time Room; it’s situation at the top of the house means you wake up to the most spectacular view. She’s also rather fond of the cheeky drawing on the wall that was uncovered with the first round of renovations (we think it dates back to the 1940’s!)
The sketch depicts a woman standing in her birthday suit, with caption "Have you seen my hubby?" Her hand looks as if it's gauging his height to describe him!
What's your favourite room Adele?
Adele’s favourite bedroom is the Bachelor Room, particularly because of the view out onto the Gillyflower Roof and the meadow behind (she's not usually standing on the roof out there, but busily planning your weddings inside!)
And Rachel's favourites?
The Smoking Room tops Rachel’s list, she loves the contemporary-feel of the wood panelling in the room and the super stylish bathroom… That bath is really something special! The Butlers room is a very close second though.
Which bedroom is your favourite?
With 16 gorgeous rooms to choose from it could be a tough decision… Come along to our Spring wedding open day on 28th April to see for yourself, or take a look at our other blogs about rooms or take the tour to help you decide!
