We’ve been closed for events for almost a month now, you’ve probably been wondering what we’ve been up to...

The answer is rather a lot! We've been busy utilising the January down time to undertake yet more renovation work; the old Gillyflower marquee kitchen is down and the old Victorian kitchens are undergoing renovation.

Arrival of the floor

Here's a few behind the scenes action shots...

During the first week of January, the marquee that used to house the Gillyflower service kitchen came down, and then the real work began. New foundations were installed and after lots of rainy days, the builders were ready to put down the flooring of our fabulous new permanent build!

Down goes the marquee
Walls are going up!

We have a roof!

It almost looks like a kitchen!

It feels like such a great space.

The biggest improvement will be the link-through created to the Victorian kitchens, which means the house and Gillyflower will finally be connected after four years of staff going between the two. No more getting wet on rainy days! Hallelujah!

The Victorian kitchen renovation area is strictly prohibited at the moment so we haven’t yet been able to sneak in with our camera... but fingers crossed it shouldn’t be too long before we can share this with you. We can't wait. You know it will even have a brand new tasting area for you?

More updates soon.

Lots of love,

Team E xx
