Fair Well - A Spring Day to Remember

Fair Well - A Spring Day to Remember
Share

Once again, we’re smiling from ear to ear after Sunday.

Thank you to everyone who came along. For sharing your wonderful ideas and plans with us, for the wandering, and for bringing such a magic energy to the house and grounds.

There’s something about this time of year that feels like the right moment to open our doors and invite couples in to see the house and estate for themselves.

The gardens are waking up, the light is shifting, and across the estate things are slowly coming back to life - quietly, but with a real sense of movement.

It’s often when many couples begin their search for a wedding venue, wanting to experience a place in person rather than just seeing it online.

And somehow, the weather met us halfway. A little breezy in places, but the rain held off and the day stayed dry - which felt like a small win, especially as the forecast hadn’t been entirely on our side…

A House Full of People (as it should be)

The Court is always at its best when it’s full, and Sunday was exactly that.

Couples moved through the rooms, conversations unfolding around the finer details of their wedding. Glasses in hand, ideas beginning to take shape as people wandered from one space to the next.

Not rushed.  Not staged.  Just a chance to experience the house as it is - and to start imagining how a wedding day here might unfold.

For many, it’s the part of visiting a wedding venue where things begin to feel real.

Rooms Brought to Life

Inside the house, each space had its own feel.

The Great Hall was filled with music from Nero String Quartet and Apollo Live - a steady, atmospheric backdrop as guests arrived and settled in, offering a glimpse into how a wedding ceremony here might feel. Jenny Fleur’s flowers softened the space, adding colour without overwhelming it.

In the Dining Room, Lauradana at Wedding Creations brought something a little different - thoughtful styling, layered details, and inspiration for couples considering a more intimate wedding setting.

Upstairs, the Smoking Room had a quieter rhythm, with Chloe Britton and Ruth Starkie offering a glimpse into the morning of a wedding day - calm, considered, and unhurried as preparations begin.

And in the Drawing Room, conversations flowed just as easily as the wine. Elmore Wines were on hand to guide pairings, Darren Campbell quietly surprised guests with moments of magic, and Rachel from Salt & Scent was there to help with the finer points of wedding planning.

Out front, Azure Cars lined the approach to the house - a gentle reminder of how the day begins, as much as how it unfolds.

The Gillyflower in Full Swing

Out in the Gillyflower, things felt a little livelier.

WedHead’s furniture created a relaxed seating area, giving guests space to pause and take everything in, while Sorori Design Events, Deabill & Quince and The Luxe Collection added thoughtful layers of styling - a reminder of how a wedding reception space can be shaped in different ways.

There was, of course, music too.

Apollo Live returned alongside Synergy Band and DJ Ben from NJ Events, building the kind of atmosphere that feels more like the start of an evening celebration than the middle of a Sunday - a glimpse into how the energy of a wedding day can carry through into the night.

There was also plenty to see (and taste).

Cakes and samples from Cherish Cakes and Cake Daydreams drew people in, offering a look at how couples are rethinking wedding cakes - not just as a centrepiece, but as part of the experience.

Quinn’s Jewellery sparked curiosity, with a steady stream of visitors at their permanent jewellery station, while Sophie England’s live illustrations quietly captured moments as they unfolded.

Through The Woods We Ran shared their work and stories with couples at the early stages of planning, and Gary Nunn was there capturing the day as it happened - a natural reflection of how wedding photography fits seamlessly into it all.

Out on the Meadow

Out on the Gillyflower Meadow, things gathered pace.

Out on the Gillyflower Meadow, the Elmore Food and Futures Tent was heaving - a steady flow of people coming through to chat and to sample a taste of what our kitchens produce using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.

It’s often one of the most talked-about parts of the day - not just what’s served, but how food becomes part of the wider wedding experience.

Alongside it, Dough Woodfired Pizzas had their oven working overtime, while cocktails made their way through the crowd - gin and vodka infused with rhubarb and basil from the Walled Garden.

Simple, fresh, and very easy to enjoy.

Nearby, Every Event Hire had created a space to pause - lawn games, relaxed seating, and somewhere to step away for a moment, offering a glimpse into how outdoor spaces can become part of a wedding day too.

The People Behind It All

A big thank you to everyone who brought the day together.

From photographers to florists, stylists to musicians and all the quieter roles in between - it’s always a pleasure to have so many talented people in one place.

They are such an important part of any wedding day and having the opportunity for couples to meet them in person, ask questions, and start building those relationships is something we really value.

We’re incredibly grateful for the time and care they bring to days like this, and we feel very lucky to work alongside such thoughtful, creative people.

Until Next Time

Days like this are never about one thing.

They’re about a collection of small moments - a conversation that sticks, a space that feels right, an idea that starts to take shape.  It’s often how choosing a wedding venue begins.

If you joined us, thank you.

And if you couldn’t make it this time, you’re always very welcome to come and see us on another occasion, whether at a future wedding fair or a private visit to the house and grounds.

In fact, we’d love it if you did.
